New UTR number

Options
Hi All, I was self employed and got bankruptcy order in Mid April 2018, was allowed to continue business, Submitted paper return tax return of 2018/2019 on same UTR number. Now I need to submit again for year 2019/2020 and should be online and new UTR. but i tried to contact tax department in April  to generate new UTR, but they told you will receive in few weeks, but never got anything then I called again and asked same, then told to me same,  you will receive in few weeks, but now its NOVEMBER and called them again and same thing repeated and again they told, you will receive update in December.
31st January 2021 is deadline for submitting online tax return for 2019/2020. So I am worried if I dont get new UTR by that time. Can you please help what should i do. or any advise please, so I can get my new UTR soon. Thanks in advance.
regards

what is relativity of question with business debtline, have you read the question. nothing with debts. it is regarding getting NEW UTR number,  no response from coming from hmrc after calling many times. They acknowledged that you will get new UTR in few weeks, but no any update yet. nearly 9 months chasing, called few times. Anyone can suggest what to do, where to complain? or should i keep calling them.

These are, as we are all aware, unprecedented times and HMRC have focused their attention on other areas. Email, don’t telephone, so you have a paper trail. Then if you don’t have it by the deadline you can prove the fault is not yours.

    No it isn't.

That is the deadline for those people who have been asked to file a return by the end of October.

As you haven't been asked to file a return (under a new UTR) then that deadline cannot apply to you.

Once a return is eventually issued you will have 3 months to file it before penalties would be relevant/possible.

You will however need to have paid any tax due by 31 January otherwise late payment interest could be charged.  But that is likely to be small beer compared to a penalty.
