Lowell Solicitors - chasing an old EDP account

Today I received a letter from Lowell Solicitors 'Notice of Acting' regarding an old EDF account from 2016.
I have received many letters from Lowell Portfolio over the years reference this account.
Searching the account number in my emails I have an email dated 2016 showing £0 balance. In previous years I have provided this proof to Lowell and EDF - who say they recalculated the account in 2017 (long after moving from the address) and the balance was £168.95 - this is what they are supposedly chasing for now.
Can you offer any advice what to do? I dont want a CCJ or court costs, but feel unjust that I have proof the account was settled years ago when they since decided to 'recalcualte'
Thanks

Hi,The onus is on them to provide the proof of liability, not you.Send them the provit letter, available from the sticky post above, get them to either prove their claim, or to shut up and go away.See what comes back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
