This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Good morning everyone and thank you bellabella for starting us off
.
It's quite chilly outside where I have opened the door for the dogs. It is too dark to see what the weather is doing but I can't hear any rain so that's good. I've had a slightly better night than last night so I am definitely on the mend. I filled in one of those e-consult forms on my surgery's website so I am hoping my doctor will give me a ring sometime today as I am still bleeding heavily from my bladder.
I hope Ruby will be feeling a little less sore today and has lots and lots of pain relief.
Today I am hoping to finish a couple of Christmas cards so I can tidy away my crafting stuff. I also have a crown hat to finish although I can only manage a couple of rows at the moment as my concentration is not at it's best. I want to put up the decorations next weekend so I am trying to finish crafting this week. Loads of my family have put their tree and everything up already but I think I would get fed up of looking at it. Each to their own though and if it brings someone some pleasure especially after this shocker of a year then I don't have a problem with it.
Lee will be making dinner tonight and we are going to have spag bol so that will be nice and easy for him. He made some lemon shortbread yesterday and they were delicious. He has offered to do some of the Christmas baking this year which is fab.
Right, that's me done for now. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning everyone
bella - thanks for starting us off x
Still dark, and we've had a frost too - cold start to the day.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, with all the extras, was a nice flavour and there's some LO's to make another meal - maybe tonight or tomorrow nights' dinner.
Last day off for me so am going to enjoy it - although I have quite a list of things I want to get done - but at least all the menfolk are going to be at work - so I can have some peace. DH has been on leave also this past week. I'd forgotten what a complete **** he can be at times!
Keep safe and well x

WEIGHTLOSS SINCE JUNE 2009 - 5 ST 2LB13 -
Good morning and thanks for starting Bella. Hope things are ok, with no more incidents at night. We had a quiet day yesterday as usual, I changed the bed and got the bedding out to dry, I think that was the high point!I made some celery soup, but it didn't taste very celeryish, savoury and ok, it had leeks in as well, but not really tasting of celery - it could be called not celery soup. I'll foist a couple of bags of it onto DD, and eat the other 2 for lunches.Today I'm going to replace the tape on some curtains then hang them at the landing window, I was going to do it last week but the kitchen getting done took precedence.Gers, I'm glad my mention of the Fish Quay triggered pleasant memories - I know you lived in this area for quite a few years, and seemed to be happy here.Ruby, hope you are feelimg better day by day, you start off feeling like you've been hit by a train, but it's remarkable how quickly you start recovery. Also thoughts go to Dumpling and Topsy.Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks14

Morning All
Cold this morning but no rain yet so that's a bonus. Washing just about to finish, will hang that on the pulley before I go to work.
The bathroom got a jolly good scrub yesterday, washed down the walls too. I'll do the downstairs one tonight but the ceiling is a bit higher so not sure I'll be able to reach the top of the walls. I'm trying to do a room a day although I think the front bedroom could do with about 3 weeks!
Off to work today, let's hope there are no surprises.
Have a happy Monday, thinking of the poorlies, take care. XX13 -
Morning folks and thanks BELLA for starting us off. I hope RUBY is progressing as she should and maybe she will be back with us soon. DUMPLING fingers crossed you get a response to your e-consult today. I've only ever filled one of those in once and by the time I got to the last of the hundreds of questions I was losing the will to live. On the plus side though I did get quite a speedy reply!
It's a nippy start here too but no rain forecast. It will be another groundhog day for me, trying to find lots of things not to do! No cooking to do as there is plenty of yesterday's beef casserole left for my dinner. Sachet of hm soup defrosting for my lunch with the usual bagel or wrap.
I am almost on the last lap with present ordering. A few more stocking fillers ordered yesterday courtesy of the FatFace sale. It's the youngest DGD who is stopping me crossing the finishing line as she still hasn't composed a list of wants. And I still need to draw some cash out to put in the older teens' money wallets but no rush for that.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Bella and hugs to all those in need.
Chilly here today but hopefully it will stay dry.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.13 -
Good morning and thank you for starting us off bellabella.
Very chilly here and there has been an overnight frost, just a light one.
I might put on many layers and carry on working in the garden but it is colder than yesterday and yesterday I couldn't manage more than an hour before I gave up and came back in.
I don't have anything urgent to do, just a bit of a tidy round. Same old, same old really.
Hope that Ruby, Dumpling and Topsy have pain free days.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Morning everyone.Dark and chilly here. Only another month until the light starts to slowly return.I had a very restless night drifting in and out of sleep without being properly awake. I listened to my latest book which is now finished though I haven't heard it all the way through. Will need to go back to it.Yesterday was slightly fraught whilst still being quiet. Lots of email to-ing and fro-ing with a disgruntled person which got me increasingly irritated. Those exchanges also brought about soothing phone calls. A very mixed day, perhaps that's why I had my restless night.SCARLET - I lived in Newcastle for over 30 years, enjoyed my time there though I always knew I'd come back to the Bonny Land. Still have happy memories of the whole area. My own home has the sea in front of it but not the beautiful sandy beaches of the east coast.Today I'm off into town to collect my new phone. It won't take long as I've got a 15 minute appointment out in the street! Hoping that the rain holds off. Annoyingly I've also got an Amazon order arriving between 8.15 and 11.30 just when I won't be here. Usually they don't turn up until the late afternoon. I'm sure a neighbour will take the packet in for me.TA - hope you can nudge DGD into making her wishes known to 'Santa'.Now it's time to put on some socks, my tootsies are beginning to feel very cold. Happy Monday to all.

Morning,
I hope RR has had a good night, hopefully we will get an update today.
DP1, it sounds like little GD is great fun. Have they been able to stop the stomach feeds?
I'm up fairly early because I have to go to the surgery for a flu jab. I'm getting it early because of Steve but I am a bit apprehensive. That's because the last jab I had was for Hep B and I had a reaction that lasted for months and had to have weeks off work. I'm determined to have the covid jab though so the flu jab is the first step.
Apart from that I shall be sewing and cleaning the bathrooms today. I hope you all have a good day.13
