They are wrong then.  It should not be Vatable apart from the DFM charge.   Back in 2012/13, the VAT issue was done to death.   So, I am surprised they are making this mistake.

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Does this sound transparent to you?
No , but probably the sort of thing you would expect with these types of advisor/salesman.
Thank you - just wondering whether I was being overly harsh, but I don't think so!  I thought they were a reputable company - and maybe they are, but was not impressed with his tactics.  His loss, as I shall be taking my business elsewhere.  Just need to find a decent IFA now.  Any pointers as how best to go about this?

My rule of thumb based on posts in here - avoid any company with the word "wealth" in their name.

I do not think anybody is saying they are dodgy and presumably they would have looked after your portfolio OK .

However the sales tactics are debatable and the charges are high .

Normally the best way to find an IFA is by word of mouth . In any case the standard practice is to offer a free one hour get to know each other meeting with no commitment .

Exactly. They are trying to play on our vanity. Tempting. They want me? I made it!

Wealth at Work I believe are a fairly large company. I know BT used to use them for 'free' retirement seminars for people coming close to retirement who wanted retirement planning advice. Unsure if BT paid them or they picked up trade from the seminars for their compensation.
