Beginners set up new limited company

If it's a conflict, putting it in your partner's name won't remove the conflict. If anything, it might make things worse in your employer's eyes - setting up in your partner's name entirely removes the excuse of "I didn't know there'd be a problem with this". (Although depending on what you do/your contract with your employer, the problem might be so obvious that excuse wouldn't be plausible anyway.)
