Mortgage with Universal Credit

Hi my friend has recently separated from her partner who was main earner in the relationship.
From the sale of the family home she will has a sizeable deposit for a new property (which she has put an offer in on) and would require a 45% mortgage.
She currently works part time and has recently applied for universal credit the issue she is facing is that she only has the Awards letter and a months payment currently. with this and her salary she meets affordability criteria. The situation is quite urgent as she risks losing the house she's put an offer in on and staying in the family home is not an option.
Is there anyone who has been in a similar situation, or has anyone got any advice on lenders who would accept the awards letter for Universal Credit specifically

I think going to a broker would be a good idea when you’re trying to use benefits to meet affordability. A few lenders (Barclays for instance) will accept UC with an income from employment too but you will need to deduct any housing element from the UC claim as it won’t be counted. Also, the benefits for children over 13 are often not included.0

Your friend really needed to visit a broker before putting in offers. Suggest that she signs up herself to a forum like this.1
