Lowell Text Message(s) - Not for me

Hi all, this may be straight forward for someone to help answer, so I'll throw it out as I'm always cautious when receiving letters/texts/emails like these, as more often than not their end up being spam/scams.
I've been getting text messages from 'Lowell' the name, not the number, so i guess they are using some SMS service to stop people blocking their number, i've been ignoring & deleting them as they come, but they're starting to get annoying since i can't block the sender. No other forms of communication from them has happened. The name in the text message is addressed to someone completely different, doesn't even resemble my name. It's asking for that person to contact them regarding a personal matter, on a certain number providing a reference number.
Some googling shows that Lowell are quite persistent, any advice on how to deal with these text messages, should i avoid contacting them as they are likely fishing for details? I've no outstanding debts with anyone, a student loan that's slowly going down, credit score is perfect.
Cheers

Just ignore it, mobile numbers are recycled, so could be an old number that once belonged to who they are chasing.Even if you correspond with them, you won`t pass security, so no point. You could send a generic letter to them, quoting the reference and the mobile number, tell then you are the victim of a mis-trace, and you are not the debtor, tell them to delete the number from their systems, they have to comply to conform to GDPR.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. They keep spamming me too. They want to speak to someone called James. They think that is me. They are wrong.

I've had texts from a few companies, including Lowell. I have contacted each company and explained the mistrace, and they've stopped.0

I always find it better to contact people and polity inform them they have the wrong person. As someone has said mobile numbers are recycled. Some would disagree with this and advise you to ignore them. Either way there's no right or wrong in this situation.
Although you wont be able to pass security on the account, you can request they remove the number at least.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

I see this thread is quite old, but I’ve been receiving text messages for over a year now from Lowell. They are for someone else. Noreen …. Had loads and blocked number but keep coming. Saying things about please get in touch about Thames Water. I just delete them. Assumed they had wrong number. I didn’t want start communicating with them that they had wrong number. Just thought I’d leave this here and see if anyone else has had these texts.0

Unless they write to you, at your address, then its not your problem to deal with, so just ignore it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
