Early settlement

Hi there, I recently contacted PRA Group with whom I have an old Lloyd’s Debt which now stands at £1050. It was around £3500. I am paying them £20 per month. I have had this debt for many years.
I recently asked for an early settlement figure as I have inherited some money and want to clear my debts.
The figure they gave for early settlement is £1030. That is the best they can do. 

I am surprised as thought it would be atleast 50% of the debt.
what can I do to get them to reduce this figure because at the moment they say that’s the best they can do which seems crazy.

They are getting regular payments towards your debt So would assume no inclination to knock a great deal off.

You can always counter offer. With what you think reasonable?

Perhaps asking for your post to be moved to the Loans or Debt board rather than posting in spotted a local bargain  board may get more advice?

I will contact them tomorrow and see if they will accept a counter off ..
