Books / CDs - best places to sell them

Hi, I've been having a big clear out of books and CDs and have several boxes of each which I'm hoping may generate a bit of cash.
I've looked online, including reading a post on here but the last entry was in 2009.
I was wondering if anyone has recently tried selling books online and what the lowdown is on the good, the bad and the ugly.

Unless they are something special probably not much cash - you could look at musicmagpie/e-bay etc to get some idea what they are selling for1

I looked at different platforms for this, but the benefits from each of them are small, so if you value it, then the money is not worth it

Some of these "cash for clothes" companies buy books. One near me pays 10p per kilo! You would need 100 kg of books just to get £10!!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

music magpie is good. You say they don't pay out much but isn't that better than zero? My daughter and I had a big clearout and had a pile of books. Music magpie paid us just over £30 and they collected them free of charge. It's a great way to get rid of things you don't want. Sometimes they will give only pence for an item but sometimes they will pay a couple of pounds. Depends on demand at the time.
If all else fails, there's always the charity shops. You can donate there but obviously you won't get anything back. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
