I have sopcast downloaded i think but when I click on the link of the livefooty it says I have not installed the sopcasr web player and it wont let me totally confused please help

Are you using Firefox? I was and I got the same error as you. When I tried the page in Internet Explorer it worked fine.

Well OH was meant to be watching fight at his mates but it got cancelled last minute so we called sky to re-subscribe... and apparently there's a technical fault so can't get it!!!
