Experience using a range of communication tools.

I'm not looking for answers before anyone says anything. I'm completing an application form for a role and I need to evidence the above.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Does this mean for example, email, intranet, digital platforms, telephone, databases, printed materials, etc?

  • Looks like a sensible list.  Depends really on the job - PowerPoint could be a communication tool.

(I'd be able to add telex but I don't suppose there's a lot of call for that these days.)

Yes I would have thought so, so if the questions was can you provide experience of using a range of communication tools, i'd list something like extensive use of email with an inbox of xxxx per day and list evidence of using this, then move on to Telephone and list evidence, I'd even use Slack and Airtable etc as a communication tool (if used) and provide evidence of how / what used for.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I would imagine that it depends on the job which ones you would focus on. If a call centre, then phone and possibly email, bit if you are in a sales role or research role for example, you may focus more on visual communication, powerpoint, giving talks and the like. Or, if in my role, we use some very specific communication tools.
  • I would also suggest in these COVID days if you have virtual communication tools experience such as: Zoom, Teams, Skype, webinair as well
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada

:D  My Dad would have added Morse code, and I recently surprised myself with the amount of semaphore I can remember ...

I think the word 'range' is key - depending on the job, I'd guess they are looking for someone who is comfortable using whatever method of communication is needed to do the job.

these were the sort of tools i am thinking they mean.  software platforms where you communicate with other people, which may include online chat if it is a job that involves customer service.  if it is a teaching post, then platforms where you can teach online.
  • It’s an office based job so I think I’ll focus on the communication tools I would use within that environment.
