StudentLoan_Erudio
1996 took a small student loan out for about £1,000, maybe £1,500. In 1999, although on NMW, repaid about £90pm for a few months then I changed jobs and assumed Wescot would contact me if they wanted any payments. This summer I applied to SFE for an OU degree but have been refused and informed, after contacting Wescot who don't have a file on me, that Erudio have arrears which I did not know. I can not receive funding if there are arrears on an existing student loan but as I've not deferred each year since 1996, even though never earned over the threshold, and therefore may not be entitled to it being written off. Should I contact Erudio to make a deferral for one year in the hope it will cross over to the 25 years and or risk a low payment plan and hope to clear the amount so can receive funding for a degree next year with a possible CCJ put against my name and address. Not sure if after 25 years it would be cancelled and not show when I reapply to SFE.
