  • Thank you Sarahwithlove and Enthusiasticsaver you have just confirmed what I was thinking.  Its good to know my thinking is changing!  I have increased my minimun monthly payments to highest interest card with the £37.50 savings and the £100 I was previously paying MBNA.

Is this local to you or a nationwidw company?

It was a local company but just contact a gas certified plumber and most do it for around £60-70

  • Our boiler is about the same.  £59 a year service with a local plumber and he is also great at coming out if there is a problem.  Our boiler is fairly new though and he put it in for us.  I think £60 is about standard.

  • Much better than the £12 a month I was paying.  Its not due yet but I still have the contact details of the guy who installed it so will start with him.

  • Definitely. Although did that cover other repairs too? Being 3 years old you shouldn't have too many issues with your boiler tbh and if you can get some kind of emergency fund it wouldn't matter too much anyway.

No it was only to cover the service.  We haven't had any problems with it so far.

  • I have now paid the last of my payments for November so I can update balances.
My credit card balances are now £25849.30, my lons are £6459.18 and £6676.38.

Total outstanding debt balance at end of November is £38984.86.  I paid £318.80 in credit card interest.  I am hoping this is the last ever month I pay more than £300 in interest!  This amount would easily feed my family for a month.  :(
