Considering solar PV installation

First time poster, but lurking for a while as usual. I'm looking at the possibility of solar PV panels, and any advice would be welcome. The snow thing bothered me enough to get an extending pole and rubber scraper attached (live in a bungalow) and the one time we had snow that settled I was out there meticulously scraping all the snow off. I kept an eye on the app and there wasn’t any discernible difference. Now, OK the app isn’t live, I appreciate that but it really didn’t look like it made a difference, certainly not enough to justify the pole! I bought an apple picking attachment to justify my purchase!
