    Hi
The CCJ was only registered against me in April 2019 so I suppose by the time we hope to purchase our property it would be two years old.
    Thanks for your reposne
Have you settled the debt yet?

    Hi,
In short, I have held re remainder of it back in an attempt to negotiate with the lender. I genuinely was not aware of the CCJ filed against me and thought if I had paid it off then they would no longer communicate with me. It's only a small sum of £300. I am currently dealing with their legal team who are reviewing my request. I have asked that they provide a statement acknowledging that I was not aware of the CCJ so that I can use it to support my application to set the judgement aside. I would then pay the whole sum.
I also read on someone's thread last night that if you pay off the money you can no longer apply to have the judgement set aside. Do you know if this is accurate?

    Thanks

    Hi all,

I just wanted to make a post regarding my CCJ experience.

I previously posted on the MSE Forum to seek advice and guidance to get my CCJ removed, however, I had no luck. I had replies off of people insinuating that I must have brought it on myself with no considering to the fact that the company in question may have been in the wrong. I eventually found a solicitor who advised me not to take the advice from the bored, legal wannabes from this forum who dish out person snotty opinions disguised as formal advice.

In April 2019 I noticed that I had a CCJ registered against me for an old debt (I did not deny the debt). The CCJ was sent to my previous address so I didn't know of it until it appeared on my credit file. I reached out and offered to clear the small debt in return for a signed consent order. They rejected. I then contacted Lender and Court Services who reached out again on my behalf - they then accepted a consent order. I sent this consent order to the County Court Business Centre at the start of January and received confirmation today that my application was successful.

For those that seek advice and get negative responses from others.. consider whether they are a reliable source of information or not. A lot of responses to MSE are formed from opinions rather than professional experience.

To the jumped up A-holes that couldn't resist an assy response to any prior post I made, suck a fat one.

Do you know what, fair play to you and fair play for speaking out about the behaviour you've seen on this forum.
I've always found this board "the mortgage" board to be helpful full of kind people but the "credit file" board has some really unpleasant, patronising characters on there.
One person in particular posts on this board too and their attitude makes me cringe.
Not enough people speak out about certain behaviours on online forums so well done for doing that.
Congratulations on getting your CCJ removed and good luck with your mortgage and your new house!
