  • Cashew nuts are often used in vegan recipes but there are issues about the cruelty involved in their harvest unless you buy fair trade cashews.

There are sadly human rights issues involved in nearly all mass food production.  While it is important it doesn’t affect whether something is vegan or not.

It would be incredibly difficult to survive on a diet of only completely ethical produced in every single way foods.

Especially if you included carbon footprint of the transportation too!
You'd be living on just the veg you could grow in your garden/allotment! :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Even then, were the seeds and the compost and the tools you used ethically produced?  Were they delivered by someone on an exploitative zero hours contract?  Was the natural habitat of any native wildlife destroyed to build the garden/allotment?  Are the pest control measures you take harmful to the environment?

You can go down a real rabbit hole, everybody just has to try and do their best.

If it comes from an animal, it isn’t vegan.  If it comes from a plant, it is vegan.

    Cashews come from plants.

Shops/manufacturers can only label things as vegan if they can guarantee there isn’t the tiniest trace of milk or egg protein from the factory.
Manufacturers may spray the crop with a product that contains animal extracts. They might also spray the finished product. Some fruit has bees wax or shellac applied (shellac includes dead beetles), and some sweets are sprayed with a compound that comes from the backside of a beetle.
