I’m the other way. Life is very busy again and it needs to slow down. I need to slow down actually. 😂. Well done on the interest rate reduction

Lol debtfreeoneday, careful what you wish for hey - I've just been given an absolute shed load of work.  I'm happy about it though as I like to be productive.  But I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it and make sure I slow down at the appropriate times.

Made a delicious leek and potato soup for dinner - very warming in this strange cold weather.

Feeling like such a hot, sweaty lazy lump at the moment.  I love warm weather but this is just a tad too much for me.  Still at least we know there is an end to it and I will welcome some cooler weather soon and NOT complain (well not much ).

Feeling a little better about work this week, not quite so much out of my comfort zone.  I do know that it takes time to get used to new stuff, but my confidence has taken such a knock this last year.  Its brought back the feelings a little of when I took on a job which was a bit too much for me, and I felt like such a flop.  This isn't the same at all though - there's much more support and I need to keep my head up and just get through these first few months.  Good things come to those who keep on keeping on.

So much has been happening, some good, some great and some very frustrating.  The trick is elevating the good and great, whilst keeping the frustrating stuff in its place.

Lovely that its cooled down a bit.  I like the sunshine but it just felt too uncomfortable for working in.

Did some shopping at Sainsbugs earlier and got some good nectar points - my total for my xmas21 saver is now up to £243 - which is the target for the end of July.  Some work done in the garden and the garden building this weekend, so progress has been made.  I need to spend about another £1500 now to make more progress - it has to be done as we are so close to finishing.  It will mean we can enjoy the garden for the rest of this summer (August and maybe some of September if we are lucky) and be ready for next summer.

Keeping positive with work.  It feels a bit overwhelming at times, but its really not a stressful job, just me getting stressed by it.

Sold an item of clothing on ebay, so have to post that off tomorrow.  Its only a few quid, but it helps with the decluttering.  Will put another two items on tonight as well - slowly getting there

Just realised that I 'forgot' to put the items on fleabay, so will do later today.  I prefer to list at the weekends, as I think they are more likely to sell, but I'm not going to wait again as I might forget again.

Should be able to do a furniture shuffle soon once the garden room is finished, which means I'll have space for a chest of drawers for my clothes at last.  It will also give me a bit more room around my tiny desk, as its squashed against the wall at the moment, which isn't helping.  I'm also thinking about making a screen for behind my desk - I was thinking about buying a piece of correx, but the size I need could be about £60.  So back to the drawing board - maybe cardboard, covered with some nice paper.  I love the screens they have on Sewing Bee, but I thought a piece of card will do and it can slip under the bed when not in use.  It just needs to be about 1.5m x 1.5m.  Someone suggested the boxes that fridge freezers come in, so I might call into Currys sometime.

Once the garden/garden room is done, I'm hankering after decluttering the garage.  I'm planning to paint the ceiling and the blockwork in white - we have loads of paint.  Then I need to put the shelves back up and sort all the carp out and put it back.  Some kind of boxes will be needed for some of it.  I've got sections planned for gardening, tools, DIY stuff, DH's sports stuff.  I think I'll have to take a week off, but I'll really enjoy getting that done.

Started the day not being able to get into my bank account.  Eventually managed to reset my password and move all the monies around.  DH had a bit extra in his pay packet today so the savings have had a boost.  Total spend on the extras has been £1,340.  I think that's it now.  Seems very odd spending so much, and in effect its put us into £850 of debt, but our smaller pots of savings mean that we aren't in debt at all really.  I will never cease to be amazed at how different life is now - it was worth all the scrimping and saving to get ourselves into this position.

I think that's all the big spending now.  We still need to buy stuff for the house, but that can all be done slowly.  We just wanted to get all the big spends and work out of the way.  Thoughts of clearing the garage, pottering in the garden and doing some sewing are really exciting.  And if we can get rid of this pandemic it will be so much better too.

Just realised I haven't allowed for the mortgage overpayment this month, so I'll need to take that out of the savings again.  Its all swings and roundabouts, but I like to make sure that £1k comes off the mortgage each month (plus I've plans to double that as soon as the emergency fund is topped up sufficiently).  Oh and I forgot to upload the last few clothes to fleabay - that might have to wait until the weekend after all.  I'm only make a few pounds for each item, but it all helps.

I know what you mean @debtfreeoneday.  An old friend of mine used to have regular clear outs, so her house was never messy.  Me, I'm like put this to one side until I go to the charity shop/recycle/put in on fleabay etc. - then 6 months later its still there, probably hidden under a pile of other junk.  I'm a bit better these days, but much improvement needed.
