Great idea to be comfy whilst working! @SandyShores
PS. My car started this morning! Everything perfectly fine. My anxiety is starting to reduce slightly.  I’m using this to help: https://www.actionforhappiness.org/media/954757/january_2021.jpg

Thanks caeler, yes comfy and warm too.  Pleased to hear the car is fine and you are feeling less anxious.  Those actions look really good, I;ll definitely think less about worrying when I'm busy thinking about/doing those.

At the moment I'm worrying that I won't be good enough for a job I'm applying for.  Lol, I haven't even got an interview yet and I'm worrying about doing the job!  Yes, it would be a stretch, but that's why I'm applying for it   One foot in front of the other.

I have an appointment with the physio. tomorrow.  I'm usually a bit sore afterwards but will feel so much better and more flexible afterwards, which makes me in the mood to exercise more, then I feel healthier and in a better mood and so it goes on.  Note to self to keep these appointments more regularly.  Next on the list is the dentist, then the opticians.  I ordered a thermometer today, just in case one of us feels unwell and we'll be able to check our temperatures properly instead of trying to guess.  I'm also thinking about ordering one of the Oximeters - looking at the £30 finger one in Superdrug.  We bought a blood pressure machine years ago and that's had so much use, but I'll wait for the thermometer to arrive first and perhaps buy the finger oximeter next month. I feel like I'm being a bit spendy at the moment but health is so important.   https://www.superdrug.com/Health/Health-Monitors/Blood-Pressure-Monitors/Kinetik-Wellbeing-Finger-Pulse-Oximeter/p/796162

I got an oximeter and got great peace of mind. Also available on Am****. Some phones offer a free version using your camera light and an app

I was just about to declare a NSD today, then realised I'd bought two second hand books off the 'net.  At least they were second hand, so I feel good about recycling and got them for half the price of new.  A few other things will be arriving in the next few days - I ordered some stuff for the cat before xmas and a pair of boots in the Jan sales, plus the thermometer.  Definitely need to stop spending now!!

Physio went well, but I am definitely really sore.  Cold and heat pads will be applied regularly and lots of water drunk to flush out any toxins.  Going to relax this evening and hopefully will feel better in the morning.  Have a good evening all!!

Thanks savingholmes, I felt so much better this morning and I know it will gradually improve now that I've started treatment.  The pain sort of creeps up and becomes the norm, but it affects everything.  Health and wellbeing needs to be a huge priority - what's the point in all this saving for retirement if we won't be able to enjoy it - and I have so much more energy when I'm not in pain.

I've been thinking about mortgage neutral and also about other income streams.  I've tended to have jobs, where no matter how hard or little you work you still take home the same pay check.  Its bizarre really as I'm the type of person who will just put in so much effort that I'm exhausted after work.  Yes, I've felt satisfied at the time, but where has it got me, and I see others who just do the 9-5 but enjoy/are more productive out of work.  I think I need to find a side business that I'm really interested in and put all my efforts into that, while treating my 9-5 as my bread and butter.  I'm also really interested in being creative - art, sewing and just making/repairing things.  But I think that would be for enjoyment rather than money making.  Apologies for any rambling here, but its good to write it down and then I'll reflect on it later.  Its good to remind myself before work, that it is just work and not to put my heart and soul into that - there are other things I need to focus on.  Have a good day everyone.

No need to apologise. It's your diary. Craft and writing helps keep me sane. If it ends up earning me £ too that's a bonus at the moment. Long term I would hope it could become a bigger income stream.

DH did some SE today so we made another payment to the EF.  The rest went into the household pot and we will put any leftovers into the mortgage OPs at month end.  We had a planned take away night so it was lovely not having to go food shopping today.  I even managed time for a stretching session which I should do regularly to supplement the physio treatment.  Had some nice candles burning and it was very relaxing.  Whiled away an hour or two watching TED talks this morning - some really good talks about how our minds work in connection with health.  Watched Wendy Suzuki's talk about exercise helping our mood and our brains to stave off illnesses.  Psychologist Emily Balcetis explained why some people find exercise harder and it was basically about focussing on the finishing point and not on the things around.  There was also a talk about not announcing your goals, as once you've spoken about them you're more likely to give up as you feel that you've completed them.  I think they were saying that e.g. instead of announcing you are going to run a marathon, then you should break it down into smaller targets e.g. I'm going to run 5 times a week.  It all makes sense, so much useful information out there.  I also bought a free sushi book from amazon advertised on hotdealsuk.  Really love california rolls so will look forward to having a go at that.  I need to do my lottery tickets for the month - I only do four or five tickets, but its something I do as you never know.  I used to do more tickets but decided some time ago to put the money into premium bonds - feel like I'm hedging my bets as there are possibilities there and if the lottery doesn't come up I will still have a bit of money saved.  I also entered the BHF competition for a house on a bit of a whim - I know it is such an incredibly long shot, but £10 to win a £3m house seemed quite good.  Although its probably better odds for the lottery, its nice to have a dream.

Quick drop in before heading off for the day.  Made some progress towards my goals over the weekend and hope to get a few big items ticked off the to do list very soon.  A little progress on the weight loss - at least its going in the right direction now (and I remembered to weigh in this morning).  Will pop in later for a better update.

Well, I didn't make it back last night.  Not sure what happened as there wasn't too much going on.  Was really tired after a sleepless night/early morning, but the afternoon went well and I managed to get to grips with a few things.  Two second hand books I ordered turned up in the post in immaculate condition brilliant for £9.40 for two.  They are the kind of books I wanted in paper versions and I got them for the price of the kindle versions (saved a tenner).  Sent a parcel back - some boots I have been after all year were on sale, but when they turned up they were too small.  Really miss being able to try shoes on.  Oh well, have saved some money, and will perhaps buy some next year.  Picked up the thermometer - we've all tested our temperatures and they're normal.  Thinking about getting the oximeter next.  All had different dinners tonight - fish, chicken, beef plus chips/rice/peas.  I picked up a yellow sticker apple pie the other day when I picked up the 9p pack of Sainsbury's potatoes.  The pie and went down well with custard tonight.  I think I'm feeling a bit calmer this week as we've meal planned again - several things left in the fridge and am stocked up with staples - hope this organisation lasts.
