Where to get help when not worked for 16 years

I have been a stay at home mum for 16 years (6 of which I was self employed selling children's clothes on Ebay) and before Corona virus I was looking for jobs but was finding it so hard to fill in application forms as could not answer lots of the questions. Sending a CV was so much easier.
Is there anywhere that I can go to get help with applying for jobs as job references my last two jobs were 16 and 20 years ago. All my previous jobs were 100% typing. I can type 95-100 words a minute but don't think I would have much luck with office jobs as technology has changed.
I just need to find somewhere I can go and get someone to help me apply for jobs.
I don't mind working in places like B&M or Wilko but never see jobs in my area. I live in Hillingdon Borough.
Thanks in advance.

shops don't tend to advertise jobs. you have to go into the store and ask if you can get an application form to apply for jobs.0

Look online, target each company and see what adverts they are listing.
Tesco, Sainsbury's, Wilko etc all have a vacancy section.
It in doubt type:
Tesco vacancy
Into a search bar and that will bring up links for you.
Have a look online for CV and covering letter templates, remember the transferable skills due to being a mom, it's not always about paid jobs or having that particular experience in that particular type of business.
All that's changed with office jobs is some use in-house IT packages, others use various Microsoft ones. There's plenty of how to guides online and YouTube to look at, also free online training courses.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
You might find a local charity that can put you in touch with someone who can help you understand the answer you can give to questions on applications forms. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
