Morning all Thank you for starting us off Gers . I am up early to go shopping before operation boudoir is brought to a swift conclusion today the bed frame needs dismantling and the new one that is in the lounge needs putting together along with the new ottoman then its done yay. I managed yesterday to book 2 holidays one for 2021 and one for 2022 its going to be a big one in 2022 as we got a fab deal to go to the Maldives to stay as my lovely mum put it in a beach hut its an over water bungalow she then told me she had been on a sea plane turns out it was a hovercraft and that the Maldives were near Cyprus she meant Ceylon the shopping trip carried on in this vein when every cake i showed her in the shop she said no to and then started to get upset because she didn't like the queues ,the masks and too many people I wouldn't have taken her but she says she hasn't been out for days so it was a loose loose whatever i did but she needed some stimulation as she is becoming more forgetful as the days go by. Right onwards and upwards I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to xxSlava Ukraini14

Morning

redruby I'm glad the house completed, what a relief for your DD. I hope you can all relax a bit now xx
I spent the last few days winding myself up about my hygienist appointment yesterday, as usual I was being daft because it was fine, it's always fine but I just can't help myself, lol.
The festive film watching has begun! In preparation for The Christmas Chronicles 2, I watched The Christmas Chronicles again. I recorded Scrooged a couple of days ago – I have it on DVD but do you think I can find it?! All my other festive DVDs are lined up ready. Might put some fairy lights around the fireplace. I don't usually start Christmas things this early but we all need a bit of cheer at the moment and for me, this is the best way, lol.
I've been keeping an eye on bird flu outbreaks, it was in three areas but now there are rules across the country. Our new chicken run means things are easy, last time I had to build a small run inside their large one in order to cover it properly. This new run is covered so all I have to do is take care to change my shoes at the gate so I don't walk any nasties in. So birds are in lockdown too!
I've been awake since 4am so I expect I'll sleep for an hour this afternoon. I'll take Scamp out in a while then tidy the kitchen (not sure what's happened in there, lol) and run the hoover round. Nothing else is planned so I expect the rest of the day will be very lazy.

Morning folks. At midnight I was still awake, nodded off, slept soundly and was wide awake at 5.30am. Can't be right, there's so much more sleep needed.Yesterday my breakfast date was so fabulous. Our conversation topics roamed around the world (voting processes in Estonia and Australia), and more domestically. We had a little wander round the area looking at remnants of the days of trams, window styles and tiles. I have a huge bee in my bonnet about bad windows, windows that are too small for the building and horrible window frames. 😀
It may be that Glasgow is driven into even tighter restrictions next week which will mean no breakfast sitting in a snug cafe.
All the excitement of the morning morphed into sloth in the afternoon. DM sat editing a few pages of her document which I'll add to the Word version at some point soon. A programme on channel 5 last night brought my mood down a bit as most of it was about where I live. At a couple of points it was only a mile from my home, I so wanted to jump into the TV to be there. Yes, it sounds mad this morning though it seemed a possibility yesterday. 😂😂
I'll be doing the Saturday cake shopping this morning. When DM's friend is here I want to cook a chilli. It's going to be a challenge finding the right equipment, everything is behind of or under umpteen other things, it drives me mad (see above for the result of such madness). Clearing a pathway will take some time.Tonight there's SCD to look forward to. Anton in the judges seat should be a joy.Happy Saturday to everyone.12 -
Good morning and thanks for starting Gers, glad you enjoyed the breakfast date.Bella, your holidays sound fabulous, bet you can't wait!Ruby, I'm pleased that your DD is now free of that horrible BF, it's been a long haul, you must be so relieved.Nowt in particular going on here today, though I might hang a pair of curtains whoo hoo.I wanted to replace the curtains on the landing window and was considering making a pair from some fabric I've had for a while, and also had lining that I'd saved from other curtains, so it wouldn't cost much, very MSE.Then i remembered a pair that I used to have up in the dining room, and got them out to have a look at, I may hang those. This was last night, so I want to look at them again, and re measure, think they'll need taking up but I can do that. That's today's excitement sorted! We went for a walk yesterday afternoon, it was like a spring day, mild and sunny, we always feel a bit brighter after a walk.Hope everyone is ok and has a good Saturday - take care folks14

Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Wet and dull start to the day here.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS1 having a lie-in. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was battered fish strips, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and salad. Tonight will be some sort of cheat/quick meal, maybe indian/chinese. Sunday's roast will be chicken.
Got several chores done yesterday that I wanted.
I'll be heating out to buy a newspaper shortly - it's the only day we buy a newspaper - mainly for the upcoming week's tv guide.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
I had a great sleep last night, probably switched the lamp off just after 9 and woke up at 6, I feel so much better this morning. So much so that I've sorted the house insurance for the coming year, something I dread (that and the car insurance) as it takes ages to get quotes and sift through the contents. Anyway, I've renewed last years' policy as it is the best offer.
It's damp and dreary this morning so I'll walk down to get a couple of bits of shopping I need, can't be bothered to go in the car and I'll spend too much on stuff I don't need! There's washing to be done but I'll wait until I've had a shower before I sort that.
I started a distance learning course a couple of weeks ago but I think I've bitten off more than I can chew, I seem to be spending every evening on it. It would be fine if I didn't work, didn't want to go swimming and didn't want to see anyone so I think I'll give up. It was a free course so not lost any money but I feel a bit of a failure!
Anyway, my new phone has just arrived - it's huge! The old phone seems to have updates bigger than the memory but it's done really well as I've had it nearly 4 years. A large part of today could be setting up the new phone, getting frustrated and giving it to my friend's daughter to sort!
Hope you all have a good Saturday, take care. XX

Thanks again for the good wishes xx
Hugs to all in need have good days all xx

Hello all, it's a stormy and dark day here.Woke at silly o' clock with a headache and raging thirst, maybe from the 5hrs heavy sleep. I have a "to do" list but I need to shake off this headache first, although there is nothing that must be done today. I have filled the dw and pushed the go button, other than that I might just have a quiet day and cosy up with my blanket on the sofa, I have some films recorded and ready to watch.Yesterday I sorted through the xmas craft box, seems that messy elf has been having a party in there and I did find a card that I had made earlier, but I still have the xmas paper to sort through. At least I've made a start and spread everything out on my crafting table, now all I need is some energy and ideas to coincide.Tea tonight will be a beefburger in a bun with fruit salad for pud. I need to get my act together and back on the diet wagon as I've been comfort eating again
Take care all, stay safe and keep wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning folks and thanks for the start GERS. You have no idea how envious I am of your breakfast meet up, it seems forever since my weekly Tuesday morning coffee then lunch break with my DF was allowed due to all our local restrictions.
I made my usual quick dash into town this morning on the first bus (8.45) but it didn't go to plan. I wanted the Post Office which opens at 9.00 and there was already quite a queue waiting for it opening! When I was eventually back out I thought I would make a quick dash into H & B. Well quick it was not! The sackless assistant already had a queue at the checkout due to the newly installed cash machine. It took her forever to serve everybody, blaming the new system. I had an opinion on that which I kept to myself! By then it was time to dash for the bus back up home so never got into the bargain grocery shop or Poundland. Just time to grab a bag of sweeties from the kiosk - my Saturday night Strictly watching treat! (GERS I would love Anton to replace Motsi on a permanent basis, I find her increasingly irritating!)
It's very miserable outside. Dull with a bit of a mizzle. But no plans to go out again so it matters not what it's doing. I foresee a day of sloth ahead! I need to shuffle some money around to pay the deposit on the static - the bill arrived yesterday. Then the balance on takeover early March. Once all the present buying is finished I must tighten my belt a bit in readiness for that! Soup and a bagel defrosting for my lunch, along with a chicken fillet to make pizzaiola for my tea.. I'll probably do it with hm wedges, mushrooms and the token gesture of a bit of salad on the side!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care and stay sane and safe x
