May also have missed out on a couple of qualifying years for the state pension as well, depending on just how low the payment was...

A lot of business's have moved to electronic pay slip's due to Covid, I wonder if mortgage companies are excepting these? Mine are now sent out encrypted and can only be accessed using my NI number.FTB_Help said:It really sounds your employer has messed up, im sure they need to provide some sort of documentation when paying employees (payslips for paye, if contractors/freelancers, they need to invoice the company (and have a contract) for payment- this might be provided as proof) im pretty sure apprenticeship are also taxed regardless of the pay and the company should incur NI tax too. Maybe call up your hr first thing tomorrow too, to see if they can provide some other documentation that backs up the BACS you receive and take this with you in your meeting with Santander0 -

I don't think the advice in itself is in question. As I said before, it's the tone. Say things nicely. Smug, arrogant, patronising or condescending tones are not helpful when people are already stressed enough.lookstraightahead said:Irrespective of anything, it is really good advice to know that payslips are needed and a legal requirement. Remember this going forward and make sure that you keep them somewhere safe.
Every home buyer/seller is all too aware of the angst involved 🙄😣1 -
Little update.
I've (well my mortgage advisor) has sent Santander my Contract of Employment along with mt Apprenticeship Agreement. He says that although it is highly unlikely they will change their decision, these documents prove that we were not trying to purposely fraud them.
He also said that we shouldn't have any problems with a different lender. We just seem to have been unlucky with the under-writer at Santander!

I think most companies only issue electronic payslips (the last 3 companies I've worked for have anyway), i submitted downloaded pdf copies and it was accepted

Hopefully their decision might be swayed with your documentations, if not speak to your broker again and find out what the consequences are in putting in another application with another lender so soon after this one (soft checks or hard checks done by Santander etc)
