My son moved out in August to move in with a friend I stopped claiming for him in the beginning of September because I thought he might be coming home. I was told By the social worker to stop claiming his money so the other family could claim. Found out today off my son they haven't got around to putting the claim in as yet. But before he moved in my son told me that the mum was getting £1500 a month on benefits and the dad was earning £3000 per month but he wasn't meant to be living there and my son started saying he give her £200 a week to pay towards food and bills. Would I be able to find out if some one is claiming for him he has no clothes and if they are claiming and keeping it or know they might lose money because they haven't declared her partner living with them.
Any advice

How does your son know all of this? Who gave her the £200 towards the bills?

Her boyfriend who's isn't meant to be living with them but is. The friend's parents treat him like a mate not one of the kids. He said if the dad works over time on a Saturday it usually means his cheating. My son said today that he goes to the shop with her bank card and her payments haven't gone up meaning benefit money for him.

How does your son know whether any benefits are being claimed and if they are how does he know how much is being claimed? As far as i'm aware there's no way of checking whether any benefits are being claimed for your son.How old is your son?0

He's. 15 and they have told him that they aren't getting any money for him because they haven't got around to claiming yet. The social worker told me the mum had put a claim in for him. I suppose he could be lying to me I could ring the social worker and ask her

Yes indeed he could be. You can but they most likely won't know if any benefits are being claimed for him.kimp22 said:I suppose he could be lying to me I could ring the social worker and ask her

I will try tomorrow. He might not liking asking other people for money.

I cannot conceive of how a fifteen year-old ends up moving out of his parents’ home, but yes, the sort of child who ends up doing that is not likely to be the most honest.kimp22 said:He's. 15 and they have told him that they aren't getting any money for him because they haven't got around to claiming yet. Should you not be getting him home?0 -
Apparently it's up to him according to the social services I got them involved because I wanted him home and they said he doesn't have to. I have asked him to come home but he won't he has no rules there gets to sleep with his girlfriend in the bedroom according to one of his friends and been told his girlfriend has recently had a miscarriage she is also in foster care now. She attacked her mum and then was kicked out her mum says she's not allowed home till she splits up with my son. It's a mess and I have hardly spoken to him recently he put some Christmas cards through the door the other day. I spoke to him today and he wants to know what people will be getting him money wise. Because they aren't claiming for him so can't buy clothes apparently.

You don't know that for sure and there's no way for you to check either.kimp22 said:Because they aren't claiming for him so can't buy clothes apparently.
