I have Amazon Assistant, which has saved me tonnes of money. Last week, for example I bought an Eglo fishermans lantern from Amazon for 34.99 £80 on Eglo website and £50 at Homebase.

Thought I would try Honey from Paypal. Saved me literally 1p so far. Anyone actually saved with it ?

I've tried it a couple of times and haven't had any joy with it either.

  • I tried it a couple of times a year or so ago and it was quite rubbish tbh. Good to know about Amazon assistance, though I'm trying to distance myself from Amazon a bit, lol!
  • I've found it useful on a small number of occasions so far.  It got me a good discount and Holland and Barrett i wouldn't have known about otherwise.  Though I am yet to see any of my Honey gold.  I often use it in a separate browser and if I don't find a worthwhile coupon then I look to Top Cashback or Quidco in a clean browser so I can get the referral cookie.

It's a no from me.  I regularly buy online and thought "hurrah, I will save some money".  It finds codes which are out of date so it's all a bit pointless.  There was once it found about 20 codes and I thought this is good but it amounted to nothing.  I've deleted it since and wouldn't bother with it again.

I got 50% discount on a load of cards I sent from Moonpig last week by using Honey.  I wouldn't have bothered but a friend suggested I try. So I was pleased with that, saved me a fortune. It doesn't hurt to sign up with them and if they can get you a bargain, so much the better. I like the way it pops up when I've forgotten all about it and says it's looking for discounts for me. I never think to look myself. Too tedious. So to have it seems okay. Unobtrusive, and helpful sometimes. After all, nothing's 100% perfect but I really was pleased with the Moonpig bargain.

Don't write them off too soon!

As far as I understand, this is an amateur idea, right?
