Civil service reserve list

I recently conducted an interview in the civil service (PHE). The interview went very well. A few days later, a person from the panel called me and told me that, although I had not been selected for the advertised post, I would be considered for a similar post, but with a shorter term. I accepted the offer and sent the remaining necessary documents. The person said he would call me on a particular day if I had questions (I did have). However, I have not received further information/news. I am scared of having been ghosted or tricked or spammed. Anyone with a similar experience?

I would contact/ e-mail the panel member/ the person who offered to call you to check. The health systems (departments and agencies) are very busy these days that it could be that they have not got the chance to get back to you.0

Merit lists can take a while to work through to the offer of a job - some will last for 9 or 12 months, so you could wait a while for an offer.
Essentially, you've passed an assessment /interview at a particular grade - but if there was one job, you were the second/third etc. choice for that particular job.
However the civil service is a big place that recruits/advertises many jobs using the same criteria - merit lists are used to fill these types of vacancies with suitable people - it reduces the cost/time burden in terms for managers and interview candidates.
However, on re-reading your original post, I'd get back in touch with them to see what the hold up might be - perhaps frame it as checking if there is anything more they need from you etc.0 -
I certainly don't have a similar experience. It's strange for an interviewee to claim to have 'conducted' an interview. An acronym such as PHE should not be used without prior annotation.0
