Reclaiming mortgage early repayment charge within time allowed

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone’s has ported a mortgage with a gap between selling and buying and had to pay early repayment fees but then Had them refunded. When the fees are refunded are they put back into your equity towards your next mortgage or do you have to wait for it to be refunded to you, therefore cannot use the fees towards your mortgage? Any advice great fully received

IMO if you paid repayment fees from outside your mortgage then the refund should also be paid o you direct or vice versa.0
