Redundancy

My employer went into liquidation on 29th October and I was made redundant with immediate effect. (Worked there 6 years) I was sent some paperwork as I need to make claim for; unpaid wages, holiday pay, redundancy pay and notice pay from the government redundancy payment service. I have been offered a position that needs to start next week. However I’m unsure if I start it I will invalidate money I should be receiving as I will be starting in my notice period, even though I currently have no job. Would I still get my redundancy payment or notice pay or neither? Thanks in advance

Have you tried googling? I've done a quick one, and can't find anything which says you would NOT be entitled to all of those, but if you start the process you'll soon find out. https://match.redundancy-payments.service.gov.uk/claims/start?_ga=2.18344058.270495769.1605025520-1515822932.1583179053Signature removed for peace of mind0

All I can find online is that if I get a new job during notice I will forfeit all rights to notice pay and redundancy (nothing about immediate redundancy/ notice not worked). I can’t start the process yet as they are still sending out case reference numbers which I need before I can start the claim. The insolvency service factsheet I’ve been sent suggests I must apply for JSA immediately or it will be taken off my notice pay and any income I receive in the period could also be deducted from my government pay out.

I think this is a case of moving on. Fill in the forms and provided you are recompensed for holidays not taken and are paid for the time you were not working between old and new jobs, you will not have lost out.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I don't know the answer to the questions, but isn't it a big risk not to take a new job and hope that the monies you may receive for redundancy etc is enough to survive on until another job offer comes?

It’s just the new job is 25% cut and only a 12 months contract but in different career I’d like to move into. But considering the rise in unemployment I could be on JSA for a while potentially. The monies I’d get all together is equivalent to about 4 months pay of the new job.0
