Natwest Legal&General Valuation Survey woes

We are in desperate need of advice with a Natwest mortgage application that is all but complete, just pending the valuation survey.  This has been the status since mid-September and we have had numerous updates to suggest the survey has been done but the surveyor has yet to sign it off formally eg not just verbally.  We are only able to contact Natwest for an update as L&G won't deal with anyone but the lender, and when we get through to Natwest they keep telling us they are waiting for the valuation report and have requested it several times with all the appropriate information.  It's quite clear that there is a breakdown in communication somewhere as it seems the same question is being asked and the same response is coming back. Does anyone have any experience of resolving such a situation? Is it worth asking our solicitor to get involved? It all feels like "Computer says no" when it could all be resolved with a couple of emails.

What does your mortgage advisor say? We’re waiting for a valuation for NatWest

We are getting most of the feedback through our broker, so it's whatever Natwest are saying which is the signed off physical report has not been provided yet so they can't make a decision on an offer. We are trying to buy a new build property that's already built and finished, which ought to be a fairly simple valuation process as far as we can tell, but obviously not.

When I paid the valuation fee last week, NatWest said it should be around 2 weeks. So your wait seems worrying. We’re in a similar boat to you with new build
  • The valuation side of the process seems to be an issue. We had a problem with ours as it had been instructed 4 weeks ago for a new build property. A lot of back and forth between the company doing the survey and site foreman, turns out the survey company was the issue.  In the end our broker got involved and chose the surveyour to get things moving, this happened last week and our valuation was done yesterday. Now we wait for the result!

Finally got our offer today after the valuation was received on Tuesday.  No explanation as to what the actual delay was, but it just felt like misunderstandings in communications.  My advice to anyone else is don't wait more than a few days after the scheduled valuation date to follow up, and insist on confirmation that it has been done.  Hoping no-one else has these issues.
