I will definitely take a look at Vanguard. The lady from SFL said they use them too.
They may use Vanguard for the investments but they wont use them as a provider. Quite possibly they would use Aviva platform as the provider as Aviva discount their platform charge to existing life & pensions investments on old plans moving to the platfom.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

I am in the process of transferring in from another SIPP to Vanguard at the moment, and I already have a SIPP and ISA with them. They may not be the absolute cheapest, but they are very cheap and if you just pick a simple fund, like one of their Lifestrategy funds, to invest in then they are low stress / low maintenance. If you can use online banking then you can use their site no problem. I have also messaged them multiple times from within my account and they have been able to answer my questions no problem. I will eventually be transferring in my current works pension too, but that is a long way off.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!1

I spoke to Aviva who didn't advise but said they have a new pension that I could transfer my other 2 pots into that has a 0.4% charge. Then depending on what funds I choose they start from as low 0.05% . If I open the new pension as a cash fund once it is open and other funds have transferred in I can choose to have a managed fund or choose my own funds with whatever risk. If is choose a medium risk option then this is surely has to be a better option than paying £1000 for an advisor to choose for me. I can look at the funds and see how they have performed.0
