Using equity release as contribution towards Care

Am wondering if legally one can release equity against a property to enable them to pay the contribution to the local authority for their care at home

Need to get proper advice for this one as it can be a delicate balance between qualifying for benefits and releasing equity even if at their current age equity release is an option.Worth talking to one of the advisors that offers free advice as a first step like 'Step Change'.0
