Morning,
Been missing in action for a wee while, trying to get my head around our new temporary situation and budget. On top of that we’ve got a hefty vets coming our way. I think the conservative estimate will be around £400. I get 30 days interest free via the vets, so am going to eBay, eBay, eBay to try and raise the funds without dipping into the EF.On the more positive side of things, I’ve been struggling to get into Onepoll since they changed the app - finally managed it this weekend and was pleased to see they’ve changed the payout threshold to £25, so I’ve managed to cash that out. It can go in the vets bill fund when I receive the payment. I’ve also sorted a friends birthday pressie and a Christmas pressie for the stash courtesy of boots points. Both items were half price as well, so £35 worth of gifts for £0! I’ve also got some vouchers from work, so will put these towards another friends birthday in March.
I sat and went through the bank account for the year to date and I’m truly shocked (and ashamed!) how much we’ve spent via Amazon / eBay. Granted some of it was bulk buying some household bits that have saved us a fair bit but a ridiculous amount was on 99p Kindle books 🙈 - the worst of it being I’m struggling to find the time or the energy to read at the minute, especially with DS being off school. It’s a bit scary how quickly the 99p buys add up - I’ve clocked nearly £18 already and read none! I’m putting myself on a book ban for the foreseeable.
I’m not sure whether I’ve mentioned it before but the with life insurance I have through work you can earn points and ultimately gift cards for hitting 10,000 steps a day, exercising and using mindful / meditation apps such as calm or headspace. This fits really well with me as I hit the steps and use the apps daily and also exercise regularly. The payout threshold is fairly high but I’ve worked out I should be able to earn between £60 and £90 by Christmas with zero effort, so that’s a winner.
Right better crack on - got a busy day of housework ahead1 -
