Holiday Pay/Sick

I'm looking for some legal advice/knowledge on employment law. My contract is a 44 hour per week contract- 39 hours standard time and 5 hours compulsory overtime. Our working week is from Wednesday to Tuesday. I recently took a week's holiday Monday to Friday. After returning to work on the following Monday I was then off sick Tuesday. The initial Monday and Tuesday holiday I was paid 9 hours per day holiday. The Wednesday,  Thursday and Friday I was paid 8 hours per day holiday as I had a day sick in the same working week. My question is  this- are my company allowed to knock off 1 hour off my holiday if I have a sick day in the same pay week?

Possibly, depending on your contract / company sick pay scheme.

There is no legal entitlement for statutory sick pay during the first three days of absence so any pay "entitlement" is down to your company's policy. Virtually all sick pay schemes these days are "discretionary" rather than a hard and fast contractual entitlement.

Also, it is not uncommon to have rules about sick pay close to holiday.
