Front tooth cracked - will this be an extraction

Last night I was eating an at room temperature apple and afterwards realise the enamel at the back has half gone and what look’s like a hairline crack showing on the front
can it be saved?
I managed to get another appointment for just over a weeks time (I’m pending extraction for some other teeth end of month as it was) and really didn’t want to lose one of my front two. Just thinking I need to prepare myself.
I’m scared to eat now and don’t really do soup, do you think sandwiches for eating could be ok.

Just play it by ear until you see the dentist. If pain starts, try to see the dentist sooner.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
