Blue Light Card and Curry Discount - Need recent experiences

I am after a pair of Airpods pro. I have got a price match code from Currys and need to complete today. I want to buy Currys gift card via Blue Light Card which will reduce the price by another 6.5%.
However, last time I tried this the transaction failed. It failed twice on one debit card and then once using another. (I thought it might be the card). While I didn't get the Currys card, I did get the money frozen for about 5 days in my bank as the looked to them as if the transactions had happened but not to Blue Light Card ( Its not them that actually does the transaction). The money did get unfrozen eventually.
I don't want the same to happen today so looking to see if anyone had had recent sucess purchasing these.
