NatWest survey/valuation

Hi,
I've accepted an offer on my property and the purchaser is obtaining a mortgage through NatWest. I've not heard anything regarding a valuation/survey despite accepting the offer 3 weeks ago now. Is there a delay with valuations etc?
Thanks 😊

I was advised there are some delays to mortgage approvals through natwest but didn't seem excessive. Our application was put through on 27th October and by the 29th the valuation/home buyers survey had been booked in, to take place on the 11th Nov. Of course could be some regional variation depending on surveyor availability..

3 weeks isn't unreasonable. We are in week 3 for our application process with NatWest.
Mortgage application status (Halifax) - Help to Buy + Mortgage at 75% LTV
- 2/9 - Help to buy ATP submitted.
- 15/10 - ATP approved.
- 22/10 - 9/11 NatWest application declined
- Halifax
- 9/11 - Agreement in Principle received (soft search on credit file).
- 10/11- Full application submitted (hard search on credit file).
- 12/11 - Mortgage offer subject to valuation
- 26/11 - Valuation carried out.
- 2/12 - Offer issued

It seems to vary by area.
I have seen 3 days and 3 weeks. I have heard 5-6 weeks in some areas.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Yes - currently going through NatWest and the valuation has been the area delaying us.0

Is it a survey or a valuation? Surveys are more in-depth and take longer to compile and are often done by a surveyor with higher qualifications than a valuer

I applied for a Natwest Mortgage via a broker on 15th Sept, valuation was initially booked for 29th Sept. Application approved pending valuation. Nothing heard after 2 weeks so chased and found out it never happened. Got rebooked for 26th Oct and have been chasing daily. So far we have been told it went ahead on 27th Oct, then that it didn't go ahead then that it did, then again that it didn't and more recently that it had been done but hadn't yet got to Natwest. Our issue seems to be down stream with either Legal and General (the underwriter) or the surveyor themselves (anonymous entity that may or may not exist). Every time our broker or Natwest chase this we seem to get the stock answer of "we are waiting for the report from the surveyor" no indication as to why or when the report will actually appear. The house is a new build and the survey was supposed to be a desk based exercise, so I'm at a lost as to why it would take more than a day to send to Natwest. I know this doesn't help your situation or mine but thought I'd add to the conversation.

It is frustrating but we have a good bit to go with the house sale as our new property isnt ready until March.0 -
We applied with NatWest. Application was submitted on 5th October and valuation booked for 27th October. I think it might have taken that long because we chose to have homebuyers report with them as well because it was cheaper but we didn’t realise it would take that long. Anyways NatWest received the valuation on 29th October and issued the offer on 3rd November, so almost a month wait. Surveys were Connells, same person done valuation and homebuyers report.0

The only thing concerning me is that I've had zero contact regarding when the valuation/survey will be carried out yet and it's been 3 weeks since I accepted the offer! I am aware that we are in the midst of Covid but a little communication wouldn't go amiss considering I'm in the middle of a chain of house sales!1
