What is the name for this type of prescription?

This might be a really stupid question but I can't find the information anywhere!
I have a type of prescription where my doctor renews it for 6 months' worth at a time, but on this prescription I am only allowed to get 3 months from the pharmacy to start with, and then go back in to the same pharmacy 3 months later to ask for the next 3 months' worth.
Does anyone know the 'official' name for this type of prescription? Thank you.

I have this, the pharmacy I use calls it a batch prescription.1

It is indeed called a batch prescription. Once every two months or so I phone the pharmacy and ask for them to make me up a batch from my batch prescription and then I collect it an hour or two later. Far better than waiting for the invisible doctors to sign the paper each time.
