Bookmarked threads....

I think the way that it works now is you press the bookmark link on anything you're interested in, and just press it off if it starts annoying you?#StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year1

Ditto here! We too want to reduce email notifications - re postings to bookmarked threads - to just once weekly. Daily notifications just overload our email inbox.
It's daft that a new so-called 'improved' forum design has lost this key facility!!
The weekly/daily frequency option of the old-design forum was an indispensable feature.
Not to mention:
(1) the 'Notifications' setting on the forum webpage cannot be set to have emails sent for some/selected bookmarked threads, & not sent for others! Instead it's 1 rule - on or off for all bookmarks. Hurumph!
(2) And the fact that the emails we now receive (" [MoneySavingExpert Forum] username commented on threadtitle") have no clickable link to allow me to quickly access & change these notification settings on the website.
Simpler forum design? Bah!!
It has been so frustrating having to sift through umpteen daily emails that we have even considered stopping using this forum altogether! Seriously.
Please can someone in admin reset this frequency option to the old style. (Doing so post-COVID would, of course, be AOK.)
It would be nice knowing the choice is going to be reinstated.

I'd be interested in this too! So sick of coming to my inbox to find a million 'I can't enter this' or 'this doesn't work for me' emails.Make £2025 in 2025 total £241.75/£20250

I only bookmark at Christmas, otherwise I'm an end date type.
I open the email and usually it's clear enough from the snippet of text showing whether I want to open the thread. If it's not important I just delete it, it doesn't take long.
The system can only work within the limits of the chosen design/provider.
The set-up is what it is. The simple solution is remove your bookmark on here, and bookmark the websites on your browser instead.0 -
I am having the opposite problem, I posted a comment in a thread last week and it is a busy thread so I am sick and tired of the constant emails every time someone replies. I therefore un-bookmarked the thread but that has not stopped the constant emails. Reading the site feedback, I read that the only way to solve this is to untick Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in. The very annoying thing with this though is there are threads I do want to receive replies from. Why can you not just unsubscribe from a thread you are no longer interested in?The best things in life are free.....0
