Hi MSE-ers - does anyone else belong to 24/7 Fitness?
They stopped taking payments in March in response to the first lockdown, and I then froze my direct debits in late July / August when they emailed to warn me they would be starting taking subs again. All fine until today, when I checked my bank account to find they had taken the money - I have not asked for my account to be unfrozen, nor was I warned that the DDs would be starting up again.
Has anyone else had this? I've submitted a refund and re-freeze request via their web form (well, the company that takes the DDs anyway), so hopefully I'll hear from them soon, but just wondered if anyone else has any experience with them?
Thanks!

Quick update - the finance company got back to me saying I need to contact the gym to resolve this. I have submitted a web form on the gym's website, but noticed that for membership changes their website says to contact the finance company... I can see me getting passed between the two...

You tried speaking to the bank, not sure if the Direct Debit guarantee would be something you could use in this instance

When you say that you 'froze your Direct Debits' do you mean you asked 24/7 fitness to freeze your membership?

Thanks DCFC79 - it's all sorted now, the gym got back to me very quickly, refund is sorted. They couldn't re-freeze my membership so advised me to cancel the DD with my bank and re-join when I want to.
