Question on credit check

Hi
i have now been able to finally exchange contract. In preparation for completion in a few weeks, I decided to arrange for Broadband with Virgin at the new property. They told me that it will only be a soft search carried out on me but ClearScore has now alerted me that a hard score was carried out on me. Will this be an issue? Thanks

Really cant imagine it would be for this, not as if you have applied for credit cards.0

Broadband is a utility these days.1

I wouldn’t overly worry. If they do another search pre completion and it pops up, then it’s not strange for a person to be arranging services like broadband at the new property.
if it was a hard search from something like HP on a new car or for a bank loan then yea it would be an issue, but it’s completely reasonable to arrange broadband. I’d assume you had a broadband payment showing on your bank statements when you applied for the mortgage so it isn’t an additional expense/commitment as such.0 -
Sure it will be fine - and if it does get flagged on a subsequent search by the lender, as others have said, it should be easy enough to see that it’s for broadband and you’re not looking for new lines of credit.0
