Lockdown 2 imminent

Any thoughts what will happen with house valuations if the 2nd lockdown gets put in place?

They will no doubt carry on as people are allowed to go in houses to carry work out.

Just spoke to my surveyor who is booked to survey house I'm buying in couple of weeks - they will continue as they did during last lockdown. I guess it's same for mortgage surveys, luckily mine got done last week!

I'm still waiting for Local Authority search, everything else has been done a month ago. I can't exchange contracts before I get that piece of paper. In case on a second lockdown, does anyone know whether I will be able to exchange contracts and complete or will this have to wait? I'm so stressed out right now.

You’ll most likely be able to go ahead so long as your income doesn’t change.

Ask your solicitor to pay for an expedited search to speed things up. Completions happened during the last lockdown and this lockdown is different as its focusing on stopping socialising and enjoyment and allowing business that are not those to generally continue.  

Just ask to exchange / complete in the same day
