Shortlisted, No Interview

Endorsing what others have said...yes. Not uncommon to see an initial sift to create a longlist, which is then sorted again (perhaps by computer and based on keywords), then sorted again...and so it goes on. When a job attracts many hundreds of applicants, there's no realistic alternative, but I can see why you are disappointed if you are used to the 'old days' when getting shortlisted frequently equated to getting an interview. Do hope next time around it works out for you.Rainey123 said:Shortlisting twice seems very misleading. To be told you've been shortlisted, then answer the screening questions correctly, then be told you're unsuccessful seems like an unfair recruitment process. Is this common practice?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -
On a positive note I’d take it that your application was a good one, and one to potentially reuse!0

Still 100% of those interviewed came from the shortlist.Marcon said:

not getting an interview/ job is normally disappointing but being told you were shortlisted at least should give some comfort that people saw something positive in your application0
