Got loads of debt with a ex including a house defult dont know if I should go bankrupt or iva cant afford the fees for starting cost for help as it cost over a thousand to go bankrupt and websites say it can go into the thousands getting help with setting up a iva aswell.got  3 children with new partner and I'm struggling paying the new Bill's as I'm paying my old Bill's and I'm stuck in a vicouse circul especially with council tax they keep ccj on my wage so I can't pay the council tax bill I got know because they are taking all my money to pay for the last one and also got a work car finance with my work place they bought me a car and I pay them back out of my wage before they put it into my bank account because I need a car to get to work due to early starts and no public transport dont want to go bankrupt and lose my car because I will lose my job really confused and my head is spinning I've attempted a stupid selfish thing a couple of months ago because of this but woke up somehow to my dismay at the time had a heart to heart with my partner dont want to leave my children without a father like what happened to me as I know how it feels I'm trying to be strong for them but its hard

  • It doesnt cost over a thousand to go bankrupt at all, so I suggest you either do some more research and/or get some professional advice from someone who has sight of all your ingoings qnd outgoing.

    Please try and stick to one thread, bankruptcy costs £680, you mis-understand how an IVA works, the fees are paid from your monthly payments, please get advise from one of the free debt charities I have mentioned in your other post, or see my signature.
    You need to calm down and think with a clear head, the debt is the easy part, the solutions exist, all you have to do is access them, it really is that simple.

    OP, you need to make two telephone calls.  The first to the Samaritans.  After that speak with the National Debtline.  There will be a solution to your current situation.
