Extension on Consent to let denied whilst abroad

I live abroad and have been renting my flat out on a residential mortgage with a consent to let. After two years I was told I need to switch BTL mortgage if I wanted to continue renting out the flat as was given 6 months extension on the consent to let to organise the BTL. Then Covid happened, the application for the BTL to a very long time due to confusion around the ESW1, after lots of back and forth I wasn't able to proceed with a BTL because of the ESW1 certificate not available for the building.
After realising I would not get another mortgage and all the stress Covid has brought me living so far from friends and family I decided, to stop renting the flat out, move back to the UK and back to the flat. Because trying secure the BTL mortgage took so long, I didn't have much time to organise the move back to the UK so I asked the lender for an extension on the consent to let to so I can make the necessary arrangements. My request for an extension has been refused. In the meantime I have given my tenant notice to move out and I have given my notice on my job and my flat abroad. However, I will only be able to move back into the UK flat at the end of the year due to notice periods and my current consent to let finishes at the end of October. I have phoned the lender to asked for extension. on the consent to let for the time it will take for me to move back to the flat, but the person I spoke to on the phone said it doesn't look good for me.
If they don't allow me the content to let until I can move back into the flat what that mean? Could I lose my home and be made homeless?

No, it just means the person in the flat needs to move out. It can sit empty for a little bit until you are back in the UK.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The tenant is moving out in six weeks, surely he needs time to move out.0

The lender isn't going to repossess it in the next six weeks.
