Sounds like you need to register for VAT then. It's a pretty straightforward process. Then charge VAT on your courses.0

FWIW since the only difference between standard rated and exempt education is "plus support from a live tutor" I would assume that takes its natural meaning: you give a tutorial where both you and the tutee are present (online) in real time and engage with each as you would face to face.
have you looked at what your competitors offer? Bet it isn't 1-1
Most competitors are offering emails and/or facebook groups, but ones I know personally are just as confused as me. Had a reply today from HMRC and they are prioritising for Brexit questions so it could be a while... 0 -
Registering is straightforward but I would pay VAT in all 10 countries where the courses are 'consumed' so that's less so, I need to find an accountant who knows about this!penners324 said:Sounds like you need to register for VAT then.
