Bankruptcy and bank account.

A friend of mine has paid money into a bank account of another friend (who is bankrupt) the account was kept open by Barclays but my friend can't login. Is there anyway the person can get the money back ? They have tried through their bank but the bank said ask the recipient. By the way it's only £30. Thanks for any help

Also I should add, that they paid the money into that account by mistake, and should've paid it into a different account

If the account was kept open and the official receiver has confirmed they have no interest in the account or it’s contents - then your friend needs to speak to Barclays to work out why they can’t log in and resolve it.

Apparently the account is now closed, so will the money bounce back ?

If the account was overdrawn when they shut it the £30 will go towards repayment of the debt.

shouldnt do if the money was taken AFTER going bankrupt.......if this cash was before bankruptcy i'd agree with your advice

Quick update. The friend has emailed the OR and the OR has said they will email Barclays for her. Surprised me that they would do that for someone who isn't bankrupt and has no business with the OR.
