    Like I said above, nobody's likely to be concluding missives (especially these days) before they've got a mortgage offer.

    Yeah, just heard back from the solicitor; I can pull out at any point up until contract is signed. No penalty and don't even have to pay the solicitor because they just get paid upon completion.
