What are my rights to demand a refund?

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me understand what my position is regarding a faulty laptop I bought in June 07.
I returned it after two months with a major fault and it took over 28 days to repair, I asked for a refund and was told I would receive my item immediately which I did.
It has since developed another fault and is due for repair, to be picked up on Friday. I'm sick of having an unreliable pc and would be glad to just take a refund rather than a repair. Am I in a position to reject this item as not fit for purpose or for any other reason?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
