Advents?

Options
As far as I remember, the advent thread usually starts at the end of October. Has anyone had any thoughts on this year ...?

In the past, I've usually started posting them but thought I'd wait until Halloween is out the way.
As for starting and maintaining the thread, there's no way I can do it and whoever chooses to do it has my upmost respect.

the A: worked really well to identify the advents - does anyone know whether the current forum would be able to find them in a sort?

I wouldn't be able to manage the advent thread either.

If it forces the date to be entered when posting then probably not as it appears to use that info for a date sort and not the thread title.

We've had a couple of people approach us with this question with regards the forum changes we're engaging with MSE about. It's on our list and we'll keep you posted
Just to add to that list, we might need to check the character limit for a post, I don't know what it is on the new forums, but would be good to know beforehand as this dictates how the Advent thread will work and how many empty replies the Adventer will need to add to ensure we have enough room at the top of the thread to add them all.

Thanks @sleepyjones. Do we have any idea what sort of character limit we would like?

Not entirely sure to be honest, I'm not sure what the character limit was on the old forum.
You could just add  maybe 6 empty replies at the top of the thread and know that would be enough on the old forum but it could be that the character limit is half of what it used to be on the old forum so we might need to add 12 posts.  Does anyone know what the character limit was on the old forum?

EDIT : I just edited a post from the 2018 Advents and it saved ok so this might not actually be a problem.  (assuming there's no difference in the Character Limit checks between adding a new post and editing an existing post) ( https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/75026534/#Comment_75026534 )
