Been declined a mortgage as a joint application but husband has got an AIP on his own. The o LG thing we can think of is a default on my credit file for £308. It was registered 6th Jan 2018 and satisfied in full July 2019. Will this affect us getting a joint mortgage until it drops off after 6 years or is there a point high street lenders will disregard it?

Just because one lender declines it doesn't mean all lenders will0

What is the LTV?
If 85-90% I think it might be a bit of a tough ask until the default is maybe 3-4 years old - if this had been January this year, I would have been saying not a problem but lenders have tightened up on their scoring and I am finding we are getting less adverse through if we go above 80% LTV at the minute.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
