The Pru isn't going to spend the time calculating the value of individual policies, Whenever somebody wants to know. As far as they are concerned you've a policy that provides a benefit on a predetermined date. From reading here and my personal experience in last company with a DB pension, many companies will do one free evaluation like this per year (and it takes a fair time) and then charge for subsequent. OPs mileage may of course be different.

It seems that the Pru used to bend over backwards to be helpful........The number I gave is especially for C&A pension enquiries.
They send you the quote by mail. (They go through it in great detail), I was unsure about some of the terminology so I called them and they were so helpful.But of course we do now have the universal excuse (beginning with C.....).
