Any advice?

Good afternoon, I am currently purchasing a SO flat with my friend. He may need to go back to his country, so I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this.
we have been assigned a property (SO) and we are in the process of buying it. If I tell the housing association about the issue, but I can apply with my partner for mortgage etc, will it be any issue? Meaning amend the purchasers name etc.

It depends what you mean by "may need to go back to his country", is that just for a week or two to visit someone, or does he lack the legal right to remain in the UK? Can you afford to buy the flat on your own?

He’s an EU citizen, just thinking to move back permanently.
i cannot afford a mortgage on my own, but could happily apply with my partner.

He will need to be resident in the UK and occupying the property to be eligible for both the purchase and as part of the terms of the mortgage.

For clarity, is your friend separate to, or the same person as your partner?

They are two different persons. My partner is planning to move in with us anyway, so should he need to apply with me it will just make it 100% certain.
